🌳A Deeper Look Into FRQ Editing

When getting deeper into troubleshooting .frq files, there are two things I can recommend.

The first is checking your resampler.Different resamplers use different kinds of .frq files, so if you feel that your frq fixes don't seem to be doing anything... try editing a different .frq type!

You can edit a different kind of .frq file OR discover what .frq files your resampler uses by using your frq editor plugin. After opening it, go to Tools > Options in order to change your resampler of choice!

Next, let's talk about FRQ-editing strategies. There are many things and options you can try in order to tame your .frqs by using the frq editor.

Here is a masterlist of things you can do in the editing window:

Highlight Area: By holding [Shift] while clicking a top value, and then a bottom value (or the other way around), you can select an entire area of values you can adjust.
x3, x2, /2, /3: These are numeric adjusters you can use to multiply or divide certain values to a specific pitch. This is for keeping the really precise values in a frq to make modulation more effective.(-): When you highlight one or more values and click this, you remove the values from it. This makes the resampler treat the empty area as a consonant, or a space to remove noise.avg: In a highlighted area, pressing this button means that the values in-between the first and last value becomes a transition between the values (3|8|4 -> 3|3.5|4)Drawing on The FRQ Viewer: It is still and always will be an option!

Converting frequency maps is also an option. For example: if resampler always produces errors with your .frqs but moresampler's .mrqs are always perfect...You can go to 'convert frequency maps' and bring the perfect .mrq data into .frq!

Lastly, if you want to fully do a quality-check on all of your .frq files, you can [Edit all syllables of this voicebank] and get cracking!Good luck out there, .frq warrior!
